3.) VENICE Remote User Interface (RUI)
VENICE can be controlled by using a Remote User Interface (RUI). It can run either
on the system itself or on network clients. The RUI is an application which can be
installed on Windows or Linux operating systems. Every capture and play-out job is
controlled from the RUI. Additionally, a RS-422 device such as a VTR can be
controlled comfortably from the RUI installed on a client. The following features are
provided by the VENICE RUI:
Main functions
Several instances of the application can run in parallel on a system
Easy VENICE server selection to connect different RUIs to different units
Channel selection to switch between video channels
Video overlay
Minimize function to minimize tools separately
Transfer indicator showing whether a play-out or a record is in progress
Large timecode display in the center of the RUI
Play-out mode
Drag and drop clips from Spycer directly into the VENICE RUI
Play-out of compressed or uncompressed video and audio clips
Loop play for VENICE as a player
Transport functions and scrub bar for VENICE as a player
GOTO function for VENICE and the RS-422 device as a recorder
In- and outpoints for clips
Timecode selection
Transport functions and shuttle bar for the RS-422 device as a recorder
Autoedit and crash record for the RS-422 device as a recorder
Insert and assemble mode for the RS-422 device as a recorder
Selection of video and audio channels to be played out
Audio peakmeter to control audio levels
Output settings for video and audio signals
Master and slave mode
RS-422 status information
Ingest mode
VENICE as recorder for capturing to compressed or uncompressed files
